BERLIN, Aug. 1 -- Schalke quelled record champions and defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich 3-1 in Liga total cup, a mini tournament at Schalke Arena on Sunday.

Bayern stepped up again with a substitute team but surprisingly opened the scoring through youngster amateur striker Deniz Mujic. The joy didn't last too long as new Schalke signing Raul leveled the score with 25 minutes into first half.

In addition, Schalke striker Edu doubled the lead to make it 2- 1 on the scoreboards. Raul marked the 3-1 winner with a terrific lob to score his second goal in Royal blue.

"Raul rightly occupies the center stage. He is a benefit for all of us," head coach Felix Magath said.

Earlier that day, Hamburg won the third place playoff after they overrun Cologne 3-0.
