Albert Montanes of Spain holds up his trophy after winning the final match of the Stuttgart Cup tennis tournament against Gael Monfils of France July 18, 2010.

BERLIN, July 18 -- Spain's Albert Montanes, ranked world No. 30, clinched his second ATP title of the season as his French opponent Gael Monfils pulled out half way from the Stuttgart final on Sunday.

Montanes had been leading 6-2, 1-2 when third-seeded Monfils called a halt suffering from a right ankle injury.

It was Spain's second victory of the day after Nicolas Almagro had defeated French Open runner-up Robin Soderling in the Baastad ATP final in Sweden.
